Styled Shoot at the Bowery in West Palm Beach: Industrial Antique Glamour - Part One

Styled Shoot at the Bowery in West Palm Beach: Industrial Antique Glamour - Part One

Styled shoots are essentially small, mock events or weddings that allow several vendors to collaborate to creative something beautiful and/or innovative. The goal is often publication in industry blogs, but not always.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of working with several excellent vendors on a styled shoot at Bowery Palm Beach. The Bowery, located in CityPlace in West Palm Beach, is a restaurant/concert venue/event and wedding venue that has a ton of beautiful space.

Our shoot theme was "industrial antique glamour," which combined several trendy elements with classic styles. We started with our love of marble, rose gold, and geometric shapes. We knew that this combination was modern and on trend, but adding touches of silver and more intricate patterns added to the antique vibe.

The Bowery also features a lot of industrial elements, so it was an interesting combination that gives an elegant-meets-urban feel. While marble and rose gold are extremely popular, the bright florals and lace details keep that classic look that's timeless!

We started by getting the Bridal Party ready...

While everyone got ready, Amanda of Amanda Smith Photography was busy styling and taking photos of our other details.  The gorgeous blush and marble invitations by Cricket Printing and incredible bridal accessories by Champagne and Grit made for some fun photos!  The accessories were custom-designed for our shoot and added a touch of glam to the Bride's outfit.

Then it was time to get dressed! The classic lace dress, provided by Bacio Bacio Bridal, was a perfect "antique" touch to our industrial antique glamour theme.

The Bowery provided some exceptional food for our shoot as well.  From our Signature Cocktail to the Chateaubriand and scallops - it was all delicious!

And quite possibly my favorite detail of the day - pup Sophie! She was obviously a cutie and a real trooper throughout the whole day.

After the indoor shots at The Bowery, Amanda took everyone around CityPlace and West Palm Beach for a few more group shots.

Since I live in South Florida, specifically Palm Beach, I see a lot of events and weddings featuring the traditional "tropical" theme - bright colors, lots of palm leaves, and so on.

This is so beautiful and I really love it, but for this week's blog, I wanted to look at tropical in another light.  I stayed away from the bright colors - keeping things modern but classic, upscale, while keeping hints of a tropical vibe.

I chose black, white, and gold with hints of greenery and palms as the color scheme.  Black, white, and gold is not an unusual color combo, but it felt unique for a Palm Beach/South Florida/tropical event.  I love that it still feels tropical without all the color.

3 Beautiful Alternatives to Roses

3 Beautiful Alternatives to Roses

Roses are beautiful, but they can be expensive and a bit unoriginal to some.

If you want a similar feel to roses, but you're looking for something less expensive or a little bit unique, you've come to the right place! Here are three alternatives to roses that you can use for anything from wedding bouquets to Valentine's Day flowers.

RANUNCULUS

Ranunculus flowers resemble roses, as they have many tightly-layered petals that give them that similar distinction as roses.

LISIANTHUS

Lisianthus are known as a top alternative for roses. You can even use the double-flower lisianthus for more of the layered look. They are much less expensive and are still gorgeous.

BEGONIAS

Begonias also have the necessary layers to compete with roses. They come in pastel and bright pinks and the colors that are necessary for this bouquet.

Do you prefer roses or alternative options? What's your favorite flower? :)
